A new challenge.....

Well, we have decided to take a new twist on Pace with Purpose. Ok, so twist makes it sound fun.....I am not convinced entirely yet :)

It all started after Boston. We were on a high....a runner's high. It does exist and when you are "high" you make irrational decisions. Sometimes decisions of the heart, but still illogical, out there, and on the verge of insane decisions.

A scenario recap would go something like this. We just finished a run (it must have been enjoyable or this conversation wouldn't have happened). We are leaving the mothership - otherwise known as Starbucks, which is a whole other blog- and Elissa says to me, "hey we could do that ultra and raise money per mile for a family in need." Yes, I said ultra. I wish I meant michelob but no, I mean ultramarathon as in 50 miles!!! My answer must have been a result of runners high followed by a shot of expresso, "yeah that would be awesome!" So not only do I agree but I then proceed to commit- I call a friend who has recently been caught off guard with some major medical bills and 2 new babies and a cut back financially and say "hey, would you like us to run to raise money to help you?"

And that's pretty much where we are now. 16 miles yesterday in the blazing heat thinking we are completely crazy. But you know what.....I LOVE crazy! I thrive off of pushing my limits. I also love planning where we are stopping for mid-run refreshments!

So Pace with Purpose is going on a new mission. Please help us by pledging $ per mile towards a one income, christian family with 4 kids (2 new babies) and some major unexpected medical bills. We will provide the sweat, blood (ok, blisters hopefully not blood) and tears and would so appreciate any pledge you can give to help out this great family. This will be our fall Pace with Purpose event.

Stay tuned for our training blog
