22 down....how many more????

I am sooo tired right now (but am awaiting a phone call so I thought blogging might keep my eyes open). My alarm went off at 3am this morning.....3am! Our long run options are not good due to 1) Brocks job, 2) my job, and 3) the HEAT! Life sometimes seems to interfere with my running career (heehee). Brock reminds me often of how much income I bring in running. Goose egg.

So we got a late start....3:40ish. By late I mean we intended to start at 3:30am. Mistake #1- Nyquil at 10pm last night. Mistake #2- no Dayquil for 3am. Training is necessary not only for cardiovascular endurance, but also for these valuable lessons. What to eat and more importantly what not to eat. Where to apply bodyglide is by far the most valuable lesson. Never fun when the shower teaches you that one. Today I learned that it is better to not sleep than to medicate yourself to sleep.

Weather today was actually as good as July can get. It was so dark when we started..... but then again it was the middle of the night. Luckily there are other crazy people who were starting at 4:30am and we joined up with them for a few miles. Seriously, Elissa and I can talk (and talk and talk) but it sure is nice to have a variety of conversations for awhile. Thanks TSAC morning group!

By the time the sun came up around 5:30am, I felt like I had ran through the night. Yes, thanks again Nyquil. Again Elissa's little peppy voice says at this point, "I don't feel like I have been running very long, do you?" YES. YES. YES....I do. I felt like I had ran through time zones. I think we started in PST and ended in CST. Seriously, 28 more miles????

I feel fine tonight- very little soreness, which surprises me considering we were just 4 miles short of a marathon today. I just can't quite get my head around 28 more miles?!? I am not a Debbie Downer. I am a Doubting Debbie. Hoping to become a Hopeful Helen or a Spunking Suzy....but at this point in the training you can call me Debbie. Thank goodness I run with Suzy :)
