Holes in Her Story

Okay. After reading the first post from Emily, I have decided that it is mostly true with one BIG inconsistency in her story. I do believe she is the one who suggested the 50 mile run, I was more on board for the 50k. I think it went something like this, " I think it would be cool to do an ultra- how about we do a 50k (31 miles)?" Emily's response was, "if we are going to do a 50k then we might as well do the 50 miler!" It took me several days and several chapters in the book Marathon Man (a story about my hero Dean Karnazes) for me to agree to this crazy feat!!

My husband, and everyone else in my family, thinks that I have lost my mind. Pretty soon I might start agreeing with them, but I think this is going to be very exciting and I can't imagine doing it with anyone else besides Emily. I can honestly say that she has helped me become a better runner. She has such dedication and enthusiasm that you can't help but to follow right along with her! I think that God puts people in your lives for certain reasons and I feel that he has brought her in my life not only to have such a wonderful friend, but also so that we can do things together to glorify him. I would be too scared to do something like this alone, but Emily has a way of making you get all pumped up about things and before you know it you are agreeing to do something crazy like a 50 mile run!!
