The run really went great today. No aches or pains worth mentioning. There is definitely something special about the Donut Bank off of Hwy 41 & Lincoln. If you recall, last stop we met Alicia who totally rocked in her marathon years! Today we met Coach Dave Mitchell. We were once again inhaling our donut holes (mile 16.5) and at the counter a man turns and says "Are you girls out for a 20 miler today?" Now, the average Joe would ask if we were out for a jog or training for the upcoming half. But he very matter of factly asked if we were logging the big miles today. He then went on to tell us his coaching days and past race days. He still runs here in a lot of local 5k's. What is with the Donut Bank? What are the odds in our 5 minute stop that we meet past big time runners on 2 occasions????
The sun came out at mile 18 and that's when the run really started for me. I was tired and hot anyways, and the sun beating down at the end didn't really help. But we finished our 24 miles today and had a good time (as much as you can) doing it!
Ok, not only did we knock out a 24 miler today......we got more sponsorships! A few local sponsors to mention:
Greenlee Chiropractors, Roly Poly, Aveda Rhythm Salon,Gilles Cycling, MaxMuscle, Mark's Matress, and Epic Photo & Design!
Also we got word from another corporate sponsor...RunningSkirts.com!
Elissa and I only run in their skirts......before you knock running in skirts you have to give this brand a try! I will NEVER run in shorts again, EVER! And not all skirts are created equally my friend! Anyways, definitely check out their website: http://www.runningskirts.com/
THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!
Also we opened a Pace with Purpose account and will have a Paypal option for donations for the upcoming fall and winter fundraising events! We are getting excited about what's in store for Pace with Purpose!!!
